Main finding: Intravitreal triamcinolone is superior to observation for treating macular edema secondary to CRVO

 

  • Purpose: To compare the efficacy and safety of intravitreal triamcinolone with standard of care (grid photocoagulation) for macular edema secondary to Central retinal vein occlusion.
  • Study type: Randomized controlled trial.
  • Condition: Central retinal vein occlusion

Participants: Centre-involving macular oedema secondary to CRVO, BCVA 20/40-20/400, mean central subfield thickness ≥250 μm

Intervention:

 

Group 1: Observation
Group 2: Intravitreal Triamcinolone 1mg
Group 3: Intravitreal Triamcinolone 4mg
