Main finding: Topical corticosteroids reduced persistence or progression of stromal inflammation and shortened the duration of herpes simplex stromal keratitis compared to placebo
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of topical corticosteroids in treating herpes simplex stromal keratitis.
Study type: Randomized controlled Trial
Condition: HSV Stromal Keratitis
Participants: HSV stromal keratitis
n=104
Intervention:
Topical prednisolone phosphate and trifluridine and:
Group 1: Oral aciclovir (400mg 5 x per day for 10 weeks)
Group 2: placebo
At 16 weeks, treatment failure was 75% in the acyclovir group and 74% in the placebo group.

Purpose: To assess the benefit of adding oral acyclovir to a regimen of topical prednisolone phosphate and trifluridine for the treatment of HSV iridocyclitis
Study type: Randomized controlled Trial
Condition: HSV Iridocyclitis
Participants: HSV iridocyclitis
n=50
Intervention:
Topical prednisolone phosphate and trifluridine and:
