Main finding: Low-pressure glaucoma patients treated with brimonidine 0.2% who do not develop ocular allergy are less likely to have field progression than patients treated with timolol 0.5%
Purpose: To compare the alpha2-adrenergic agonist brimonidine tartrate 0.2% to the beta-adrenergic antagonist timolol maleate 0.5% in preserving visual function in low-pressure glaucoma.

Participants: ≥30yo, NTG, IOP ≤21

Intervention:
Group 1: brimonidine 0.2% bd
Group 2: Timolol 0.5% bd
There was decreased visual field progression in brimonidine-treated (9.1%) than timolol-treated patients (39.2%)
Mean IOP was similar for both groups throughout follow up
More brimonidine treated patients discontinued study participation due to adverse effects
