Main finding: Grid photocoagulation remains the standard of care for macular oedema secondary to BRVO; There was no difference in visual outcomes between laser and intravitreal triamcinolone, but with higher rates of adverse events in the latter.
Purpose: To compare the efficacy and safety of intravitreal triamcinolone with standard of care (grid photocoagulation) for macular edema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion.
